Disclaimer and emergency numbers

In an emergency, stop reading and call for help. Call your local emergency number first (for example 911 in the United States and Canada, 112 in the European Union).

  • US Poison Control (Poison Help): 1-800-222-1222, for suspected poisoning or chemical exposure.
  • CHEMTREC: 1-800-424-9300, an emergency information service for chemical transportation incidents (spills, leaks, fires or exposures involving chemicals in transport). It is not a replacement for emergency services.

Outside the US, contact your national poison information centre or emergency number. Have the product name and the safety data sheet available when you call.

Not a replacement for the supplier's SDS

SDS Lookup provides general information about chemicals and chemical safety for education and orientation. Our chemical pages are summaries compiled from public sources. They are not a manufacturer's safety data sheet and do not replace the safety data sheet, label and instructions supplied with the product you are using. A supplier's SDS describes the exact product, concentration and formulation you have, and it is the document your employer, regulator and emergency responders will rely on.

Classifications and data differ between suppliers, jurisdictions and revisions. Our pages explain some of the reasons on the data sources page. If anything here conflicts with your supplier's SDS, the label, the regulation or advice from a qualified professional, follow those and not this website.

No professional or legal advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice, legal advice, regulatory advice, or a substitute for a workplace risk assessment. Our summaries of regulations are written in plain language for orientation and may omit conditions, exceptions and recent changes. The official text and your regulator decide what applies to you. Seek qualified advice for compliance decisions, medical questions and anything involving shipping dangerous goods.

No warranty

We work to keep information accurate and show the source of chemical-specific facts, and where we cannot verify a detail we describe it in general terms or leave it out. But the site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SDS Lookup and its operators are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, information on this site or output of its tools.

AI SDS analyzer

The AI SDS analyzer uses an AI model to summarise and explain documents you provide. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, can misread a poorly scanned document, and must not be relied on for safety-critical decisions. Check the result against the original sheet. It does not validate that a sheet is complete or legally compliant.
